There’s a reason this line is so well known. It summarizes the human propensity for dissatisfaction. Of course, it is true that whatever your situation, “always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself” (Desiderata, 1927). But if it happens that you chase different shores without finding contentment, it may be worth it to ask whether you are the one causing the grass to dry up on your side of the island.
